A Melrose Learning Trust School

Welcome to the St. Mary’s Cockerton Primary School website.

Our school is a place where all are welcomed and invited to build a community where God’s love is shared to enable positive engagement, action and education; allowing children, staff and pupils to be inspired to raise their eyes, open their minds and explore the world God created. Participating in God’s mission of love to both the local community and the wider world, we live fully as global neighbours. This work has been externally recognised and led us to be awarded the Bronze Global Neighbours Award by Christian Aid.

We are located on the west side of Darlington in the Cockerton Village area. We are a single form entry school and accommodate around 210 children in school. We have a wide catchment and we take children from all around the surrounding area and we feed into all the local secondary schools.

If you would like to visit us or would like more information about the school, please get in touch with the school office.

Following Class 2’s ‘Show the Love’ assembly for their parents and carers, £28 was raised to help towards the purchase a lovely white cherry blossom tree for our school grounds. It was planted this morning just outside the classroom. Many thanks to all those parents and carers who contributed to this – we will look after it carefully.
